RACE YEAR

01/01/09 - As others were nursing New Years Day hangovers, the Grose-Macdonald team got the final year of 
training off to a flyer, and were out for a training day run on the hills above Settle and Attermire!  

24/01/09 - On Saturday 24th January we were very honoured to give the Morrison House Dinner speech. 
We returned to Giggleswick School having left 4 years ago to give the boys in our old boarding house a little
taste of what it is we'll be doing and how we've gone about it. 

This was the same speech two time Atlantic rower, and previous Morrison House Tutor, 
Mark Mortimer gave back in 2000.

29/03/09 - Photos from our camping and training trip in France and Andorra.
  


 
     

After flying into Montpellier we drove South to Perpignan where we camped for two nights next to a lake by the small village of Villeneuve-de-la-Raho. 
We really enjoyed the lake and havd some great early morning runs round it. We then drove West to Andorra where 
we spent a couple of days camping in the Pyrenees, making the most of the sub-zero temperatures that the mountain range offers. 
Freezing nights following red hot days. For the final few days we camped and trained by the sea working our way 
North along the coastline till we returned to Montpellier.

James Cracknell and Ben Fogle in the 2005 Atlantic Ocean Rowing Race and we're pleased to be able
to continue The Glenlivet's involvement in the race.



14/04/09 - We are very pleased to confirm JN Bentley as a team sponsor. JN Bentley are the UK's leading privately-owned civil 
engineering and construction services providers and are based in Skipton, not far from the team's 
base in Settle, North Yorkshire.



14/04/09 - The team is happy to announce Booths Supermarkets as a sponsor. The well known leading Northern supermarket chain
has very kindly come onboard. We're very pleased to be able represent Booths supermarkets.




22/04/09 - Trinity Horne confirm themselves as an official team sponsor.



18/06/09 - The team is delighted to have Oakley onboard as an official team sponsor. 
We will be wearing exclusively Oakley sunglasses for the remainder of our training and 
preparations, and throughout the race itself whilst as sea.




19/06/09 - On Friday June 19th we were very privileged to give the Giggleswick School 2009 Leavers Ball speech.
