24/05/08 - First water outing with Mayabrit on Ullswater!!
May 24th 2008 saw us take the first strokes on our boat. After an early start we towed Mayabrit to Ullswater
where we met Steve and Barry atthe Glenridding Sailing Centre. They were extremely helpful and after preparing the
boat they assisted us with the launch. The weather conditions could have been better as fairly strong wind meant some
hard rowing was needed. We rowed successfully together, and individually, for 4-5hrs and got to know
Mayabrit's in's and out's. She performed flawlessly!

After spending a night in the cabin which was suprisingly comfortable, we woke to even stronger winds. We decided
to explore Ullswater further and ended up making an assault on the 950 metres that is Helvellyn.
